We spent years trying to find high quality products for our beautiful dogs, Princess and Bandit. Princess, an Australian Bulldog, was typically overly fond of food, often making herself sick at mealtime as she gobbled her food so quickly. And, Bandit, our ShihTzu Maltese, was invariably stricken with significant allergies, subsequent ear and skin issues to the point he had his own dermatologist for most of his life!
We couldn’t trust buying anything from the big pet stores as nearly everything had these allergens in them. Even health and wellbeing supplements we tried to purchase had weird and not so wonderful additives, preservatives and various products that Bandit was highly allergic to (lamb, chicken, beef etc)!! We tried literally hundreds and hundreds of products before finding success. That was when we realised that we needed to share our knowledge with other pawrents, who may not have the time or money to waste trying everything that is on offer in the big pet stores.
So, in 2019, we created Perfectly Pawesome. Our aim is to share the high-quality products we found success with on our own dogs. We initially focused on slow feeders, enrichment-based products and single protein snacks, and soon expanded into toys, apparel and supplements to name a few. Some of our supplements changed our lives for the better. At one point, Princess went from being an 8 year old with significant joint and hip based poor mobility issues, to zooming around again like a teenager. We sadly lost her early in 2024 – but, she was only one week shy of turning 13 years old, which is nearly unheard of for Australian Bulldogs!
Since then, we have welcomed two new fur babies to the family, Coco Chanel and Hugo Boss. Coco is an English Bulldog and Hugo is an Australian Bulldog. Bandit is still ruling the roost at 15 years old. He thinks the baby bulldogs are amusing but he prefers to spend his days napping in the WA sunshine and snacking on treats like Venison, Crocodile and Goat, which are novel proteins and safe for him to eat.
Now, more than 5 years after starting our business, we have a loyal tribe of pawrents and furends, known as Friends of Pawesome, who live all around Australia.
